BIOGRAPHY

Gabriela Román Esnaurrizar is an abstract artist and portraitist from Mexico City. Graphic Designer by profession and she starts painting formally since 2019.
She has exhibited her artwork in Mexico, Madrid, Luxembourg, Monaco, New York and Miami Art Basel.
She is currently represented by a New York Gallery.
Her abstract paintings are inspired by the breathtaking beauty of nature and the sense of freedom the artist experiences while contemplating the sky and sea. Using soft brushwork and muted tones, she translates the magnificence of local landscapes into works of profoundly intimate narratives.

Gabriela’s unique sensitivity extends to portraiture, where she delves into the depths of human emotions and the essence of each individual’s soul. With each stroke of her brush, she skillfully captures the raw and intimate aspects of a person’s being, particularly through their eyes and facial expressions. Her glowing color palette and expressive linework infuse her portraits with intense emotional resonance, creating a connection between the subject and the viewer.
Gabriela’s paintings are intimate mirrors that reflect her love of nature and humanity at large.
They serve as a catalyst for introspection while fostering an appreciation for the shared human experience.

STATEMENT

I am a Graphic Designer and I have always been passionate about the Visual Arts, I began to paint continuously and formally in 2019 rediscovering myself with this free style and way of life.

I have had the opportunity to show my works in many exhibitions in Mexico, Spain, Luxembourg, Monaco and the United States.

I am inspired by life itself, by nature, its colors and textures, it’s aromas, emotions, daily things and the folklore of each place and it’s people that can awaken me.

What I love and what catches me about Abstract Art, is that each person can experience different sensations and it has as many interpretations as spectators have each artwork.

With the portraits, I like to capture the soul of each person through their eyes and reflect the emotion, happiness, sadness, longing or hope of each one and their social and cultural environment with brushstrokes full of color and strength that can transmit to the viewer a feeling, a memory or that they achieve a connection, I love being able to capture with the intensity that a look can express the deepest feeling of a human being.

In some cases perhaps, I reflect my fears, sadness, abandonment, injustice, fragility or frustration, although I do not want to accept it or do not know how to do it, and it is an escape for me to do it through another person.
Maybe is the reason I usually paint melancholic faces but always thinking everybody deserves a positive and hopeful future.

In this way I want to transmit those sensations on a canvas in the way that I appreciate it, helping me with acrylic paint, brushes, spatulas and any object that helps me achieve different textures and designs.

Each work is unique and original, I never make copies.

I hope to infect you with these emotions and to fulfill this mission of
bringing harmony, peace, tranquility, elegance, style, color and strength to your lives with a piece of me!
