BIOGRAPHY

My name is Fanny Finchelman, an Argentinian architect who happily found her true passion in the art of fused glass. Although- as an architect- I approach each piece with a careful design and a desired outcome, more often than not, my artistic instincts intervene, carrying me beyond the plan into unexpected directions where imagination takes the lead.
Rather than adhering to a fixed aesthetic, I embrace transformation as the essence of my process. Each piece represents a step in an ongoing search for meaning, shaped by curiosity, experimentation, and the willingness to let intuition- together with method- guide the outcome. one of my greatest contributions has been the exceptional combination of techniques from South America with others already known in Europe and the United States, thus creating profoundly innovative and distinctive works that characterize me within the field. The most challenging, and at the same time the most rewarding, aspect of my work lies in the uncertainty of the final result. As glass artists often say, “the kiln gods have the last word.” Learning to “tame” these forces in order to achieve the vision I had in mind is an ongoing process—one that demands patience, technical mastery, and humility.
Today, my work is marked by both intense productivity and public visibility. My pieces have been shown at major art fairs across Europe, Israel and the United States, including the New York Affordable Fair, the Biennale at Art Basel, Monaco Signature Exhibition, Miami Art Week and many more.

STATEMENT

Working with glass taught me that, like our lives, even when it shatters, its fragments can be gathered and transformed into something stronger, more beautiful, and full of meaning—an opportunity not only to rebuild, but to grow and improve.
