BIOGRAPHY

Dwa Al Khalifa is a Bahraini visual artist whose multidisciplinary practice moves between digital illustration, painting, printmaking and installation. Her work explores memory, identity, womanhood and the private worlds concealed within ordinary objects and spaces. Combining vivid colour with surreal shifts of scale, she transforms familiar forms into psychological landscapes inhabited by solitary figures. Her visual language balances playfulness with quiet introspection, inviting viewers to consider the tension between inner experience and outward appearance, belonging and transformation, constraint and imaginative freedom.

CV

Dwa Al Khalifa holds an MA in Fine Art Digital from UAL Camberwell, an MSc from LSE. Her work has been presented at The Other Art Fair Dallas, the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition, Tokyo International Art Fair, Art Cairo and regional exhibitions. She received Bahrain’s Royal Medal of Efficiency in 2025.

STATEMENT

My practice uses vivid colour, surreal scale and solitary figures to reveal the emotional worlds hidden within familiar objects and spaces. Moving across digital illustration, painting, printmaking and installation, I explore memory, identity, womanhood and the quiet tension between constraint and transformation.
