BIOGRAPHY
Catalina Montes is a visual designer and artist born in Colombia. As in life, her practice is an act of surrender: She gather what is beautiful and uncertain, what is fragile and rough, trusting that everything finds its place. She do not seek to dominate color; she listen to it. Her work unfolds in that space where the organic and the human meet to reveal what is essential.
This fusion of art and nature gives rise to textures and nuances that are impossible to replicate. Beyond technique, each work is inspired by the earth and by a process of personal rediscovery. For this reason, each piece carries its own name: A value, an emotion, or a feeling found along the way, offering a new perspective on life and transforming each canvas into an intimate manifesto.

STATEMENT
The artist’s practice exists at the intersection of contemporary abstraction and botanical processes. She works with natural pigments and elements gathered from the earth-leaves, flowers, soil, and organic matter-understood not only as materials, but as language and presence.
Her work approaches painting as an act of trust, releasing control to allow time, matter, and intuition to guide each process. Through subtle gestures and slow, organic methods, her pieces invite contemplation of the natural, the spiritual, and the unexpected.
