This circular mandala is created on canvas using oil paint and mixed media, incorporating real peacock feathers as an essential part of the composition. Their natural iridescence, shifting tones, and unmistakable eye-like patterns become both material and inspiration within the work.<\/p>\n
Unlike the other mandalas in the series, which were developed around predominantly monochromatic palettes, this piece became the artist\u2019s first truly multicolored mandala. Working with the feathers challenged her to move beyond a single color family and respond instead to the extraordinary range of blues, greens, turquoise, gold, and deep indigo naturally present within them.<\/p>\n
It was a bold departure. Rather than allowing the feathers to sit against a restrained background, the artist chose to extend their intensity into the painting itself, translating the colors she perceived within the feathers across the entire composition.<\/p>\n
The result is one of the brightest and most energetic works in the series. Color radiates from the center outward in concentric movement, while the repeated peacock feathers create rhythm, expansion, and visual momentum.<\/p>\n
