This work is the first painting in the Ballet Wardrobes series, marking the beginning of the artist’s exploration of the dress as a symbol of movement, femininity, structure, and transformation.

Created in oil and mixed media, the piece combines lavender, pink, white, silver, and black through expressive brushstrokes, texture, and splashes of paint. The garment is not rendered literally; instead, its form emerges through gesture, volume, and movement.

The work reflects the artist’s background in textile design, bringing together her understanding of fabric, structure, and three-dimensional form with her later interest in texture and mixed media. It also became an important source of inspiration for the Uriarte Talavera platters intervened by the artist for the Permanent Collection of the Rosewood Hotel Puebla.

Through this composition, the artist explores the tension between elegance and spontaneity, structure and freedom, delicacy and strength.

[180
