America teaches us..
\nhow it says we can\u2019t be happy without things..
\namerica says that if we don\u2019t conform to the systems that oppress us, ultimately we deserve to suffer and die.
\nby engaging critically with the racist, fetishizing white people while discriminating against Black people, like we just finished fcuking,
\ntaught me that asking questions is both an offering and a reminder:
\nour paths are not solely our own.
\ndo we allow anything and everything to enter our bodies, minds , and spirits?
\nor do we choose, with care what we let in and where we place our energy?<\/p>\n
i begin to imagine the answer.<\/p>\n
to reaffirm the value of shared experience, and to nourish each other through presence, to me is liberation in a country that has long made a habit of erasing or punishing anything that is both Black and joyous
\nReimagining BlackJOY introduced me to the world through a deeply personal work exploring the quiet, yet potent ancestral protection and spiritual grace.
\nit is also a challenge to create spaces where everyone is safe to tell their truth – those whose stories have been ignored, misunderstood, [erased],
\nor a realm where we are all divine beings with infinite potential to create a world rooted in care, equity, & BlackJOY!
