I sense influences of Turner and Song Chinese painting here. Against this symphony of cool tones, the red tree pulses with vital intensity, functioning as a Barthesian punctum: that detail that wounds, that captures the gaze and does not release it.
\nThere are ethereal transitions of the sky executed in wet-on-wet, with meticulous care and control of the water content, and the strategic preservation of the paper's white as a light source. The tree was worked on over several days, sometimes wet-on-wet and other times dry. This contrasts with the atmospheric fluidity of the surroundings, establishing a dialogue between permanence and dissolution, between the solid and the ephemeral. Following a tradition that stretches from German Romanticism to contemporary Minimalism, but with my own language, which synthesizes, transforms, and creates a unique expression where the figurative converses with the abstract, where the Western encounters the Eastern without exoticism or appropriation, but rather with respect and profound understanding.
