For the backgrounds I usually use various proportions of Olive Green and Light Orange, but I rarely use pure Olive green. The diagonal is phthalo blue and the upright line, Violet Iron Oxide is a colour that I have used a lot. With this painting I wanted to make a darker picture, as I had been experimenting with brighter colours, using various shades of Turquoise, Cadmium Yellow Deep and others.  Roughly this composition is used a few times, including one with  Light Turquoise and Deep Yellow.
