\nIn 2020\/21, Bernd Caspar Dietrich developed the work cycle BetonGold – consisting of several large formats up to 220 x 200 cm, as well as WHEELS, of course.<\/p>\n
There are also numerous works on paper, in particular the \u2018Horizonte\u2019 (horizons) series. The 600 g paper was specially handmade for the artist in a medieval French paper mill.<\/p>\n
\u2018In times of crisis, when the stability of currencies and thus the equivalent value of cash or bank balances is threatened, people often invest more in gold, which is why a rising gold price is also seen as a sign of economic crises. In line with this, we also speak of concrete gold when investors invest in property. For me, concrete gold is a metaphor for value stability and the irony of security and transience. Living in concrete or owning a property fulfils people's need for security and gold gives them the feeling of having stable reserves in times of need. But concrete and people are transient and security is also something we cannot grasp.
