The \u2018Urbanists\u2019 cycle of works by Bernd Caspar Dietrich (bcd) impressively addresses the conflictual and often contradictory nature of human striving for power, prosperity and belonging in an ever-changing urban environment. Since 2022, Dietrich has been exploring the question of how our inner drives and ambitions are expressed in the structures and dynamics of modern cities.<\/p>\n
The urbanists focus on the human being as a being driven not only by external needs, but also by deep-rooted inner needs. These needs include the striving for influence and control, the desire to be part of a larger community and the search for individual recognition and material success. However, Dietrich's work questions where these ambitions ultimately lead us.
