And has no external reference. I is not created from observation. I am very concerned with the composition, being very traditional in approach to painting. The painting has one circular element and two linear elements. As do all the paintings that I am at present producing. I begin with a sketch on small (A5) paper using coloured pencils, so that an idea of the colours is created at the same time as the composition. This is enlarged by eye on to A3 acrylic paper. and painted, first the background and then the colours of the elements.
