In “Point of View”, Azur Gallery in Madrid presents an extension of
artists’ ongoing explorations and enquiries. Our exhibition
encourages a profound examination of how we perceive the beings
and forms we coexist with, while challenging paradigms and
reconceptualizing humanity as co-inhabitants in a world not
entirely our own.
This exhibition, steeped in the nuances of contemporary art,
symbolically invites viewers into the gallery space to reconsider and
redene prevailing artistic concepts. Its aim is not merely to present
art, but to prompt a reevaluation of how we perceive and
understand it.
“Point of View” is a convergence of methodological approaches by a
group of artists, whose works result from a series of interventions
that transform our perception of contemporary art through
perspective games and the art of anamorphosis. In this context,
some artists work with an intriguing form of illusionism, where
guration serves as a documentary record of a manipulated reality.
In other instances, the artists’ interventions involve strategically
painting to create gurative compositions that at times veer
towards the abstract. These images reveal the multifarious ways in
which we can express our opinions, beliefs, thoughts, and
emotions. They incite us to consider diversity in our daily lives and
remind us that we have the opportunity to seek new perspectives.
The fundamental question posed by Azur Gallery’s new proposal is
to explore points of view and perceptions that are determined by
our positions. It challenges us to question the supposed realities
and truths we take for granted, which can dissolve if we merely step
aside from that comfortable and seemingly objective place.
