BIOGRAPHY
VOKIANA is a Ukrainian contemporary artist based in Rome, Italy. While studying international management, Vokiana continued her work as a part-time artist. After graduating in 2013, Vokiana moved to Italy. Continuing to live in a new country, Vokiana devotes her time to the creative process and to exploring the art world. In 2020, Vokiana moved to Baku, Azerbaijan. There she started painting in the art studio-gallery “Turan”. During these years, inspired by modern portraiture, she also began her journey in this direction. After the start of war in her homeland, she began to use her voice in art, creating artworks dedicated to the situation in Ukraine. Now she is working on several collections, one of which is dedicated to Ukrainian farmers.

EDUCATION:
2013 Master in International Management from Lviv Polytechnic University. During her thesis for diploma Vokiana created a proposal for the banking system of Privat Bank (Ukraine) entitled “Reintegration of a new project of reinvestment in art works, as one of the most stable types of investment.”

2012-2013 National exhibition of artistic nativity scene, in Massa Martana, Umbria, Italy. By representing Italian Lazio region with a painting entitled “Notte della natività di Cristo”, 40×55 oil on canvas.

STATEMENT
Vokiana is inspired by the use of colors in different cultures and traditions. Through her art, she shows how color affects our wellbeing and how it relates to important memories in our lives. In her work, she combines various techniques to evoke specific feelings and emotions in the viewer.
The message of her art is that it is all about our emotions and we experience everything through the lens of our feelings and beliefs. Vokiana believes that artists can send a powerful message to the world through their art.
