BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1984 in Taipei, Taiwan, grown up in Taipei as well.
Yen Hui Chen, being a contemporary artist, uses her artistic practice to add colors to the world and heal people’s hearts.
As an oil painter, she loves to capture the essence of landscapes with her unique style.
Different from some artists, she is not major in related field. She studied at National Cheng Chi University, one of the top universities in Taiwan, major in Business Administration and received her bachelor’s degree in 2006.
With the marketing and human resources management studying and following working experiences, the background lay the foundation of her aesthetic and ability of capture people’s feeling.
Now she is a member of Taiwan Oil Painting Creation Association, an organization which is dedicated to promoting oil painting in Taiwan, join the National Classic Joint Exhibition every year.
Her work has been recently exhibited at Venice International Art Fair and been selected to exhibit in London’s gallery. She also hold her first solo exhibition in this November.

STATEMENT
In 2017, I encountered my life’s low tide and take a year off.
In this year, I took a lot of different classes and my first new trial.
One of these things is oil painting. And here’s the start of my artistic journey.
With the experience of learning sketch and watercolor in childhood, I have curiosity and strong interest in oil painting, obsessed with its brushwork, the lines and colors stacking up with various possibilities of creation.
Somehow, during the process of painting, the depression is being healed gradually. Therefore, my goal is to pass this strength, peace and light out through my artworks, even if it’s not easy.
With the love of travelling, movies and music, these experiences become the nutrient and inspiration of my creations.
My pieces attempt to join the light, wonderfulness and healing power with colors and exquisite details to create healing heart pieces.
And as time goes on, the creation grows wider in diverse topics and performance.
Paintings are simple, but feelings are not. Even with a usual scenery may carry different movement.
