BIOGRAPHY
Una Novosel is a Serbian artist based in Belgrade. She is born in Belgrade in 1988.
She graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade in 2013 at the Department of Interior Architecture and Furniture Design and at the same faculty completed her master studies on the same department.
She applies her art through various fields in mediums like painting, interior, drawing, sculpture, scenography.
As a granddaughter and daughter of painters, she grew up in ateliers exploring inspiration while playing with painting techniques and all kinds of stuff that can be found in an atelier like canvas frames, sawdust and other residues. These researching steps from the beginnings are still present in her artistic work today – together with acrylic paint, she uses various discarded and recycled objects to create and gives them a new purpose.
Among artists whose work she respects and finds it similar to her own sensibility is the Italian representative of the Art Informel Alberto Burri. Una communicates with her audience through the abstract form of Expressionism and Art Informel.
She participated in numerous workshops, art colonies, events and exhibitions.
Since 2019, Una is a member of Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS), and at the Since 2019, Una starting with doctoral studies (PhD) on Faculty of Applied Arts on painting department. Since 2020, she’s in the status of an independent artist.
