STATEMENT

As a visual artist, musician, performer and poet, my creative journey is an exploration of the impermanence that permeates and builds our lives.

The concept of iridescence and the transmutation of (chemical or natural) elements becomes a metaphor to capture the ephemeral nature of existence.

Apparently “negative” change generated by combustion and corrosion is linked to the concept of subtraction as a dialectical counterpoint to iridescence, representing the effects of loss and time.

Not merely destructive, but also transformative, the forces of subtraction and reduction speak about nature of time and the inevitable grieves we live with.

Fire is omnipresent in my art, as an agent of change or/and a metaphoric oxymoron of “destructive rebirth”.
