BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1991, Monique Correy is an emerging Australian artist based in Toowoomba, Queensland. Monique has always had a love for painting, however only recently decided to pursue a career as an artist in 2021 after her experience with Breast cancer inspired her to leave her corporate job. Moniques paintings are made up of tiny brushstrokes using oil paint to capture candid moments in time. Finishing with finer details and a washed-out background, she adds both intimacy and focus to each subject she paints. Inspired by photography both old and new, her cast of colourful characters come alive on the canvas. Monique holds a Bachelor Degree in Business and is launching her own lifestyle brand ‘mr.c’ this year. The brand incorporates and digitalises her original artworks and transforms them into home decor pieces such as table linen.
