BIOGRAPHY
KOSHO (Kosho Kinoshita) was born in 1975 in Shiga, Japan.
After earning a Doctorate in Medicine, he worked for many years in clinical practice while pursuing fundamental questions about human consciousness and existence. This inquiry led him to undergo rigorous training in Shingon Esoteric Buddhism, through which he became an ordained monk and Ajari (master practitioner).
Living across both scientific and spiritual disciplines, KOSHO gradually shifted his inquiry beyond language and theory into visual expression. In 2023, he began his artistic practice in earnest as a painter.
Through abstract painting, he explores the resonance between human consciousness and the universe, creating works that function not as representations, but as experiential fields of perception and awareness.

STATEMENT
I am a Japanese contemporary artist exploring the resonance between the cosmos and the inner universe of human consciousness.
After walking the paths of medicine and Buddhist practice, I began creating art in 2023, guided by a profound sense of calling, and have since continued to present a wide range of works both in Japan and internationally.
My work does not depict the universe itself.
Rather, it embodies the movement of human consciousness as it becomes one with the cosmos—a quiet yet powerful form of prayer directed toward individual liberation and self-realization.
