BIOGRAPHY
Kenia Pérez Rodríguez (°17/03/1982) was born in a small Cuban village, named Esmeralda, in the province of Camagüey.
Lateron in Cuba she lived in the regions of Matanzas and Havana.
Painting has always been her passion although in Cuba she couldn’t enjoy the right means for a proper development of her talents.
She used to extract her own paints with components she found in nature.
Kenia made a lot of wall paintings containing strange combinations of figures and colors .
There were not only the wall paintings but all kinds of materials that surrounded her in her home region inspired her to paint on.
At the age of 22 she moved to Antwerp (BE), for a short period of time.
For many years she has been living peacefully in a small village in Zealand (NL), where she,at least, found a new home and time to fully dedicate to her artwork.
This home where she is surrounded by the sea and beautiful nature in all his wildness is the place where she now creates without bounderies and from where she is selling her art.
Her house is decorated with beautiful figures and colors arised from her childhood mixed with new expressions of her life experience in the western world.
Since several years Kenia paints on canvas.
Her imagination is inexhaustible!
Of course there is unavoidable influence of artwork from other artists.
It goes without saying that Kenia is inspired by the wealth of sublime resources.
In her work we discover specific combinations of figures, sometimes pure adopt geometric shapes, sometimes peculiar, organic and yet also occur naturally. These worlds influence each other and live together in perfect harmony.
Kenia’s work seems very chaotic at first sight, but depicts a
perfect synergistic organization. Order in chaos as Ilya Prigogine describes.
All of Kenia’s paintings have a lot to discover.
Many people are impressed by the sublime combination of colors. The paintings portray so much more. As you watch carefully deeper significance arises. Sometimes in a small apparently discrete spot of the artwork.

STATEMENT
My paintings are the emanation of the complex reality of my life.
I often startup my creation with a background of colors in which I add a relief of planes.
On top of it I paint figures, constructions, imaginary creations in different sizes as they live in my (sub)consciousness.
My paintings are in a certain way exclusive brain maps.
