BIOGRAPHY

Keiko Hosoya was born in Tokyo, Japan, and studied Sociology (media theory) at university. She started creating conceptual art (mainly experimental video art) around the year 2000. Currently, she lives in Tokyo and works internationally. Her work includes visual art (painting, video, photography, sculpture, textile, collage), sound art, and mixed media installation/performance.

STATEMENT

Her works are mainly minimal abstract pieces focusing on light itself, expressing time and movement from a unique perspective. They are also thematically based on media theory and Oriental philosophy, fields she has enjoyed researching for many years.
