BIOGRAPHY
Born in Albania and completing his fine arts study in the United States, Jozef Berisha has honed a personal style of sgraffito which combines old world themes with modern sensibilities and aesthetic. Heavily engaged in the fine arts since he was a child, Jozef draws upon his culture, mythology, and the various techniques and colors which have inspired him as he continues to work.

STATEMENT
My artwork is inspired by every day experiences and struggles, framed by the imagery found in mythology of the classical world. Combined with stylistic approaches from the 15th and 16th centuries, I have honed a sgraffito style from experience in studies, drawing, and drafting where my goal is to frame life’ with the symbolism of Western classical ideals.
