BIOGRAPHY
Jolie Duenas is a visual artist known for her vibrant, color-saturated works that flow thru geometric precision or organic shapes of botanicals. Working primarily with acrylic and house paint, her pieces are bold explorations of color-blocking, shape, and rhythm.
Inspired by her Miami childhood—particularly the energy of the 1980s, its music, pop art, and sun-soaked lifestyle—she channels that nostalgic vibrance into every canvas. Her work radiates joy and movement, designed to uplift and energize, inviting viewers into a world where color speaks louder than words.
CV
My work has primarily gained recognition through private commissions and word-of-mouth referrals. I have successfully placed several pieces through my portfolio on Saatchi Art, as well as with private collectors. Notable collaborations include a creative partnership with Pseudo Labs, and I have provided artwork for multiple residential condominium developments in Miami. I am currently engaged in a commissioned project for a forthcoming high-rise, scheduled for installation in January.
STATEMENT
My work is a celebration of color, geometry, and the natural world. I use acrylic and house paint to create vibrant, color-blocked compositions that fuse botanical forms with clean lines and bold shapes. At the heart of my practice is a deep connection to my upbringing in Miami—specifically the energy of the 1980s: the music, the architecture, the tropical light, and the unapologetic color of that era.
I’m drawn to structure and rhythm, which is why geometry plays such a strong role in my work. But nature softens that structure—botanicals weave their way in, reminding me that even within order, there’s always movement and life. My goal is to create pieces that radiate happiness, energy, and a sense of ease. I want viewers to feel good when they look at my work—to feel uplifted, even just for a moment.
Art for me is both joyful and intentional. Every color choice, every edge, every form has meaning. It’s a reflection of my story, my roots, and my desire to share something bright in a world that sometimes feels muted.
