ARTSPER

BIOGRAPHY

Geri, a 27 year old female NYC based muralist, grew up in Long Branch, a small town in south Jersey. While studying Fine Arts at Parsons she moved to NY to complete her BFA degree and never left. Geri’s installations often include numerous colors and sometimes incorporate modern materials that are often upcycled such as car parts, used plastic, old clothing etc. in addition to resin, spray paint, and adhesive to play with ideas of transparency and opacity to create large-scale works and murals. Geri’s murals are either extraordinarily bright with color or catch the eye through materials that are often tactile and – literally – come off the wall or canvas. Her work activates the body—to fuse humans with nature, connect ancestral roots, land with time, or unify disjointed communities. Geri is constantly shifting between the world of art liberality and female responsibility, coexisting in these two systems. Her goals are to influence change in necessary sectors through public art.

A new mother, Mizrahi’s is obsessed with freezing the ephemeral – her artwork seeks to capture the beautiful, fleeting moments and explore the cycle of new life.
