Artistic Statement
​Introducing the journey of an artist who transfers thirty years of an oboist’s profound breath onto the canvas. This exhibition captures the brilliant coexistence of “Shield”—the firm protection of one’s inner essence—and “Eternity”—the realm of infinite freedom that blossoms within it.

​Eternity: Journey of Immersion, Visualized Resonance
​The Eternity series is a brilliant outcome where the essence of a thirty-year musical career blossoms on the canvas as “visualized resonance.” For the artist, this work transcends the mere act of painting; it is a journey of pure immersion, surrendering the entire body to the great waves of music, dissolving the boundaries of the self, and becoming one with the melody.

​In the moments when Debussy’s dreamlike deconstruction, Rachmaninoff’s passionate romanticism, or Holst’s grand epics unfold, the artist projects the inspiration of the moment, freely traversing between brushstrokes and mixed media depending on the depth of that immersion. These records represent the artist’s intense record of substituting musical energy, which disappears in a momentary vibration, into a visual reality that remains forever.

​Shield: Sanctuary of Suppressed Colors
​The “Shield” in the Shield series is a proud declaration of protecting the artist’s pure artistic soul from the conventionality of daily life and societal stereotypes. The vertical shield represents the center of the self, unswayed by the gaze of others, and paradoxically highlights the internal vitality even more dramatically. The feast of bold, free brushstrokes and brilliant colors erupting from between the shields explodes with the artist’s burning energy—an energy that cannot be confined by any frame or structure. This shield serves as a reliable protector that allows such brilliant aesthetics to exist in their entirety; it is a sanctuary of rest where the honest inner self can truly breathe.
