BIOGRAPHY

Lisa Caren’s inspiration and passion for photography began during her childhood, in Woodstock, NY, surrounded by artists.
Raising her family in France she was further influenced by the light, the landscape and the architecture with it’s shapes, colors, and textures.
Today she is informed and motivated by the brilliant designers that she has been assisting for the past 8 years.
Raising her family came first but when she was gifted a small Leica in 2009, the Waterline series was born.
Once she was an empty nester, she moved to CA and joined The HUD gallery in Ventura as a resident artist.
Surrounded by boats and water, and energized by her fellow artists the waterline series matured and grew.
Lisa now resides in coastal Connecticut where she can be close to her family and practice her craft.

STATEMENT

My “Waterline” series is born out of my facination with, and in-depth study of the fluctuating relationship between the constant movement of the water, the ever- changing light, the corporeal nature of boat hulls and their consequential reflections.
