BIOGRAPHY
NORNSLIFE ART, Daniella A. Colombo-Dougovito, was born in Scottsdale, AZ and schooled in Ann Arbor, MI before living in numerous states throughout the USA, as well as in Central America. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Art from Texas Woman’s University (2019) and a Master of Arts in Photography from Academy of Art University (2020) in San Fransisco, CA. She, also, has earned a Bachelors of Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor studying at Stamps School of A&D & LSA, where she was a multi-sport national champion NCAA athlete, as well as an extreme sport, and Women’s Rugby Champion. She, presently, resides in Denton, TX with her partner, and is hoping to relocate outside the US or to the west coast of the US soon. When not creating, she can be found outdoors—running 70k+ Ultra Marathons, rock climbing, surfing, etc.

STATEMENT
NORNSLIFE ART, legal name, Daniella A. Colombo-Dougovito, through photography, sculpture, painting, mixed media, and performance, expresses the power and strength of complex emotion. As a professional visual artist and creative, she pushes the boundaries in opposition of a society that is, too often, unkind and unaccepting. By inviting the viewer along a cathartic journey of healing and self-exploration, Colombo-Dougovito confronts our own misconceptions and insecurities. Through the use of multiple mediums, we are allowed to share her journey deeper into emotion and, in doing so, are allowed to be vulnerable ourselves. Annette Messager said, “Being an artist means forever healing your own wounds and at the same time endlessly exposing them.” By confronting the difficult, unspoken array of human emotion, Colombo-Dougovito builds place to share and contemplate our own demons; thereby, making a more open and empathic world.
