STATEMENT

I use colour in a very personal way and mix colours based on the scenery around me. where i live i has the most amazing skies and light and is on the very western edge of the UK with wild weather sometimes! this is all part of what inspires me especially the combination of colours and textures. I have now Lived in Wales in ( UK) for over 40 years and the colour and light are a constant inspiration for me! I use paint as a way to express how I feel!
After painting my way through breast cancer in 2012/13 with 115 watercolours. I am now painting my way through the grief Of losing my husband and my mother within 6 months! and During lockdown… after being persuaded by a friend I’ve been post and reeling on social media since August 2022 and have created over 150 oil paintings….
i have always found painting theraputic …so i really feel it has helped me survive!
I feel so lucky to live in such an amazing part of the world! the colours and the skies are so inspirational! And the weather plays a big part in the mood of the work. I am constantly watching the ever changing colours and especially the way it affects the atmosphere and colour of the shadows and textures!
