BIOGRAPHY

From a young age, I was exposed to art and color from my artistic, Italian grandfather and traveling to my fathers home town in South Africa. After college, I became a buyer for an internationally renowned fashion and home company called, Anthroplogie in Philadelphia, PA, working on purchasing and designing knits, sweaters, handbags, tech items, belts and travel assortments for 7 years. After Philadelphia, I moved to Boston, MA for two years with my husband and became a Buyer for the national female clothes company called J.Jill, where I was in charge of their Pure Jill department. I have now settled down in Avon, CT with my husband and two sons, and have started my own business. I am currently on the board of the West Hartford Art League and have been represented by a gallery in Chelsea, NYC and Madrid, Spain. I sell my art through her website, local stores and boutiques, and in accepted exhibitions.

STATEMENT

Ashton Lally is a contemporary artist who focuses on the manipulation of oil and acrylic colors and texture in each of her paintings. She believes in creating images that transcend the viewer into a place of peace and beauty, allowing one to see each piece with their own interpretation. I am currently working with two different techniques, acrylic pouring and adding a thick medium to acrylic paint to create a 3D and textured effect onto my canvases. I paint in different themes to create small collections since every painting is unique to itself. I also mix most of my colors so every painting is one of a kind.
