BIOGRAPHY
Raised on the suburban edge of Long Island, with New York City always near, Alissa’s earliest memories are rooted in art. Museum weekends with her parents sparked her fascination, while her Nonno, a sculptor and painter, built her first easel and palette, teaching her the techniques she still uses today. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology with degrees in illustration and jewelry design, Alissa spent over two decades designing collections in NYC studios. During the stillness of the pandemic, she returned fully to painting, her true calling. Her work now explores ‘natura’ through textured, moody compositions that merge realism with emotion. By pressing and scraping the oil paints, she reveals contrasts between light and shadow, capturing the transient beauty and imperfect poetry of nature.

STATEMENT
My work is all about the delicate beauty and intricate complexity of nature, life, growth, and the silent stories they represent. Stories and memories that speak of the past and present.
While I prioritize accuracy in each detail, I also embrace expressive elements through the use of color, form, and composition to evoke emotion and bring energy to the surrounding atmosphere. My creative process reflects both scientific observation and an expressive feeling of strokes and lines.
I hope to inspire a deeper appreciation for the complexity and beauty inherent in life’s fleeting moments, as reflected in the ever-evolving world.
This thoughtful yet passionate approach embodies my belief that art, like nature, is both complex and alive. And its definitely when I feel most alive…
