BIOGRAPHY
Aku’s creative expression primarily takes form through the mediums of video and photography, while also embracing various other artistic supports.
The work is always born from a score sheet that is organized in four moments: research, meditation, improvisation, and recording.
The ways in which she expresses herself arise from her passion for approaching life with all senses awakened and from her formal education in visual arts, dance, performing arts, writing, bodily expression, and other artistic disciplines.
CV
Artist, dancer, choreographer and performance artist. Completed her university studies in the United States graduating in Art from PBA University. She worked as a choreographer and later founded her own multidisciplinary art studio where she directed and performed in several commissioned pieces. In 2023, she had a solo exhibition of her work Renascere in Casamadre, Madrid.
STATEMENT
A poet who writes verses with her body, that ‘s how Aku defines herself. As a multidisciplinary artist, she manages to connect writing with bodily expression in her creative process. Oscillating from words to movement and from movement to words, the foundation of her work is body poetry.
