Turkish Delight

‘Turkish Delight’, a traditional Turkish samovar teapot with rounded shapes, typically placed upon one another, or indeed upon another urn to keep the pot of tea hot. A self-portrait of Taryn was created on the canvas beneath this particular teapot, she wears a wide brimmed hat with flowers stemming out onto the painting. If you look close enough you will see the outline of her portrait with the texture of the paint work. A charming love story through time and how she ‘connected their souls’ as one on this canvas. When creating her teapots, her love asked her to make a traditional teapot in the form of his home origin, so she did. Created only with gold leaf, crafted purely with gold sheets and cut specifically for each component for this piece, bringing a deep story to life through two paintings ‘put together as one’, is one of Taryn’s most admired teapots.
