Tons over tons

Tons over tons contains two main elements that correspond with each other. On the one hand, a mountain full of textiles soaked in dark color, which are produced specifically for the fast fashion market. The other element is freshly caught tuna. Both represent the human exploitation of animals and resources with serious social and environmental consequences. Especially the upper element of the textile pile is supposed to show the similarity to a fish pile, so how man accumulates tons of what he has to be able to consume.
The artificial leather elements give the work another texture and reflect the elements used.
