Spring Fever

I started this piece in beginning of March in the beginning of spring of 2022. I tried to express the warm fuzzy feeling of spring, what we call a ‘spring fever’. It’s a mixed feeling of cheerfulness and restlessness.
Spring is the first season of the year. We get excited of the new beginning, and feel motivated and energetic as flowers bloom and leaves uncurl. But somehow from time to time we feel a sense of restlessness and loneliness. I think it is a paradox.
It’s a mixture of feeling cheerful but lazy and lonely but hopeful.

I used green as a theme color to feature the burgeoning-greeness at the beginning of spring. With using various versions of green color as a major tone, I also used other colors to add on a sense of playfulness and elegiac tone as well to describe the feeling of the spring fever. When I was coloring I tried not to make strong brush strokes, insted I made a lot of bubbles to strengthen the image of softness and warmness.
