Crowned Taurus

I wanted to create a series of animals with hats, this one was inspired by one of my best friends. Growing up we took an agricultural class together and learned a lot about cows, we went on trips together and would say “Cowwwwss” whenever we saw them. I was missing her and wanted to paint something we loved and the memories and joy they bring. This was painted using the Alla Prima Technique and a limited pallet of blue, yellow and red. It was my first time attempting fur and this was incredibly frustrating, the paint had become blended and muddy. I had to step away from it a lot and try to play around with different brushes and colors so that i could get it how i wanted.
