A child’s Love

I was asked to participate in Painting a series of women for Womens History Month. I chose to paint my sister and her baby, I wanted to highlight depression in mothers and how hard it is for them and the joy in babies and how it is healing for some mothers. A childs endless joy and passion for life is something that is often ruined by life, but their love is life saving. I wanted to do a monochorome with only two colors to really touch on the emotions. This painting was really hard for me because I had to paint someone i know and someone i love and i am still practicing painting people. I put a lot of pressure on myself with this one and it was hard to create different shades of the colors at that point in my painting skills.
