BIOGRAPHY
My bold and colourful art is inspired by the Australian environment. I am essentially an en plein air painter widely travelled in search of
subjects from the dry tropical rainforest where I now live to the red desert interior and beyond. My aim is to capture the essence of what I
choose to paint. The beauty and diversity is often overwhelming especially the intensity of colour.

STATEMENT
When I was on an en plain air excursion I was drawn to an arresting view of yellow leaves reflected in the liquid electric blue water,
surrounded by a tangled mass of mangrove stems, buzzing dragonfly and grasses. Mangroves are extremely important to the environment
for their tidal waters and sustainability of thousands of marine wildlife and often called the ‘nursery’ for many such as fish, crabs,
molluscs and more. This view encapsulated the idea of protection and nurture of many species as well as the beauty of nature.
