STATEMENT
Roberta De Mutiis was born in 1995 in Como in Italy.
From a young age, she harbored a profound love for art. Following the completion of her diploma in Social Sciences, she pursued her passion by enrolling in the undergraduate and subsequent graduate programs in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan.
Roberta explores the complex concept of human identity through the lens of contemporary art, focusing on painting as a privileged expressive medium. Her artistic research is situated within a cultural and social context where individuals are constantly influenced by external dynamics, societal expectations, and interactions with others.
Through her work, Roberta reflects on how people define and present themselves to the world, exploring the multifaceted nature of human identity. Her painting becomes a tool to probe the subtle boundary between who we truly are and what we show to others, between inner authenticity and the social masks we wear to adapt to different situations.
Through her art, Roberta invites the viewer to question their own concept of identity and authenticity, to explore their own masks, and to confront their inner selves in a more sincere and profound way. In this way, her work becomes not only a mirror of the complexities of the human being but also a stimulus for broader reflection on the human condition and the search for authenticity in the contemporary world.
