BIOGRAPHY
Ramona Ursache is a Romanian visual artist. When she was only 10, she moved from her village to a city to learn about art and practice it in a vocational school. After graduating high school, she moved to the capital city to study painting. During her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Ramona also studied abroad, which left a mark on her work. Shortly after completing her studies, she moved to Germany, where she presently lives.
Ultimately, her work as an art teacher led her to her current artistic path. The lessons about the basics clicked with her and made her rethink her approach to painting. Ramona explores proportions, relationships between elements/colors, contrasts, space-related aspects of the two-dimensional artwork, dynamics, and texture through her work.
She avoids the resemblances to the visible world and the conventional contexts and paints according to her inner reality combined with the basics of art. For her, this is a relearning experience. Ramona’s work is about the fundamental visual elements in various configurations.

STATEMENT
“In visual art, there are 7 fundamental elements. My work is about these elements.
I find different configurations of shape, line, space, form, texture, value, and color. I usually start a new painting by placing a spot of color or tracing a line. I build little by little. The elements are guiding my thought process and are my main focus.”
