BIOGRAPHY

I am an artist born in Finnish Lapland and nowadays working and residing in Turku, southern Finland. I am a member of Finnish Painters’ Union and member of Artists’ Association of Turku as well as a Master Pastelist of PSA (Pastel Society of America). My main medium is pastel, but I also use ink and acrylics.

My works have been displayed in numerous solo exhibitions in Finland and several group exhibitions abroad. My pastel paintings have received many international awards. My works are included in the collections of Rovaniemi city and Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation (Rovaniemi art Museum).

STATEMENT

In my works I search for the tangible surface between the inner and the observable world by introspection during the painting process. I get ignited when something gets a metaphorical meaning. I bridge the soul and reason within the concept of time. Through imagery, I consider the complexities of these dualities.
