STATEMENT
Composition is everything. As a classic pencil artist, I begin telling each story in pencil. Then I try to push the boundaries of creativity beyond the pencil by infusing color, texture and light. My aim is to tell classic stories in new ways, movements and compositions while staying true to traditional styles of drawing and painting. I also love patterns. Patterns are another way for me to tell a story, to convey intellectual, spiritual, emotional and social messages and to draw in the observer. In this way, the sum of a simple subject matter, color palette and pattern becomes greater than the individual parts, bringing the whole composition to life.
