BIOGRAPHY
Lizzie Jones is an artist based in Surrey, England. Lizzie grew up in Yorkshire where she studied at Leeds Art Collage and now creates paintings, prints, sculptures and crafts in her home studio.
Lizzie’s art explores rugged landscapes, with a focus on coastal and marine environments which celebrate the play of light and how this changes the feel of the natural terrain.
Lizzie’s images are designed to evoke that feeling we get when a view of nature captures our imagination providing a sense of both awe and solace. Lizzie mostly works with acrylic paint however, she also uses watercolours, ink and mixed media for her pieces.

Lizzie has:
– Studied at Leeds Art Collage
– Is an active Surrey Artist Open Studio’s (SAOS) member, and has open studio events.
– Has exhibited paintings in London and across Europe
– Was listed as a “Wildcard” on Sky Arts landscape artist of the year.
– Won a Chelsea Flower Show “Silver-Gilt” medal for her dry flower image.
– Continues to develop her skills through workshops and in running regular painting groups.
STATEMENT
I have used art as a release of emotion following a family bereavement in 2019.
Creating is an urge that comes naturally and which i feel compelled to do.
I get immense pleasure from creating images from source photos of places I enjoyed visiting, I always like to transpose the image according to how I see it working best in the composition and for my style
