BIOGRAPHY
Working primarily in oil, Ipek Chi is a contemporary artist, who reimagines classical and Renaissance icons,through the lens of today’s pop culture. Using humor, vivid color, and surreal storytelling, she merges timeless beauty with the playful chaos of modern life. Blending realism with surreal symbolism, her art bridges nature and spirit, dream and memory. Through radiant color and emotive portraiture, she celebrates – where light and shadow, nature and soul, coexist in harmony.
In her world, sunlight and darkness coexist, forming a visual language of renewal and spirit.

Ipek Chi
Graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University, Faculty of Communication, Public Relations Department in 2003, and later pursued Graphic and Animation Studies in 2008.
Her works have been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Selected exhibitions include Espacio Gallery (London, 2025), IAAF Istanbul Antique & Art Fair (Istanbul, 2024), ArtAnkara Art Fair (Ankara, 2022), Bahariye Art Gallery (Istanbul, 2021), Istanbul ArtShow (2019), Bricklane Gallery (London, 2018), and earlier exhibitions throughout Istanbul between 2012–2016.
STATEMENT
I’ve been painting since childhood, seeing art as a meditative path of transformation. A diverse artist, I work across oil painting, collage, mixmedia and charcoal; blending styles and techniques to express emotion and change. My inspirations range from myths, pop culture,politics, science, and movies to classical icons, dreams, and everyday life. Using humor and symbolism, I like to create sense of irony. Through vivid color and layered imagery, I seek harmony between chaos and calm, imagination and reflection – for just as the universe has no boundaries, art too is limitless.
