BIOGRAPHY
Atelier af Burén is made by Filippa af Burén. She embraces and studies nature in all its forms. With the aim to connect to the energy found in living things and bring its healing affects onto canvas. Being brought up in Sweden where 70% of land is woodland, one is constantly surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Filippa’s exploration with different media and texture is presented in all her works. She brings nature onto the canvas by adding sources from nature itself that she has collected throughout her travels. Adding pure textures that has been shaping earth for centuries brings another depth and meaning to the paintings.

STATEMENT
I’m a Swedish artist blending contemporary minimalism with natural materials. The simplicity in form allows the complexity of nature to emerge, unfiltered and honest. Sustainability and craftsmanship are integral to my practice, where the process—often slow and intuitive—is as significant as the outcome.
Using elements collected from nature, I create handcrafted pieces that invite a quiet, sensory connection with the earth.
