BIOGRAPHY
I devote myself entirely to the realization of my paintings. My art is instinctive,
emotional, and vibrant: it invites both feeling and interpretation, leaving the
viewer room for personal freedom and inner resonance. I put my whole being
into the creation of each individual work. Bright colors are a recurring feature
of my paintings. I do not adhere to a single style. I take the liberty of painting
whatever I feel like at the moment. I never have a precise plan of what I am
going to do; only when I stand in front of the canvas do I finaly decide what
kind of artwork wil emerge. Whether abstract figurative art or non-figurative
works are created is always decided by my creative spirit in the moment. I am
like a filed vessel that never empties, ful of creative ideas that never run dry.
The moment decides.
Do I question myself as an artist? Probably from time to time, but then I just
do it. I don’t create a work of art to please others; it has to please me. I have
the inner peace to face criticism. If I change works of art to please others, I
may no longer like them, and that is worse for me than receiving criticism.
Having this calm attitude towards my art, towards the art of “Ritter von
Mauern,” alows me to be free in what I do. My art comes from deep within my
heart and soul. It is carried by love.
The art of “Ritter von Mauern” was born out of necessity. She began painting
because, after founding the family business, there was no money left for art,
and her husband said, “Then paint something yourself.” She had always been
artistic and had even studied classical singing privately.
She has now been exploring the world of painting for over thirty years, guided
by her intuition. She does not adhere to a particular style and is constantly
experimenting. Her art is created in the moment: color and mood guide her
hand as she uses acrylic paints, sponges, graffiti, and her bare hands.
Two years ago, her children ensured that her art was no longer hidden away
but could be seen by others.
Since then, Ritter von Mauern’s work has been featured in international
exhibitions and can be found in private colections.
