BIOGRAPHY

I studied Fashion Design with a major in Art, in Santiago de Chile. Once I finished studying, I moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Over there I took a few courses and workshops. I also drew fashion sketches non-stop. And for the first time I combined two of my great loves, fashion illustration and collage, by including in the drawings pieces of paper that I cut out of magazines. In that amazing city, I fell madly in love with fashion magazines and books. A love that remains with me to this day.

Back in Chile, I focused full-time on my fashion brand as Head Designer and Creative Director. And although not professionally, I never stopped drawing, illustrating and creating collages.

For six years I worked in a magazine. I started as a producer, and finally took over as Fashion Editor. Since then I divide my time between my artwork, my costume brand and production/styling for fashion campaigns. Not only for clients, but also for my own designs.

STATEMENT

I´ve been drawing fashion illustrations and creating collages since I was a child. Drawing, in particular, feels like an extension of who I am. Free sketching gives me a unique feeling of serenity and an instant connection with myself.

As a mixed-media artist, I´ve learned to follow my instincts. Watercolor is one of my favorite techniques, but I also enjoy working with graphite pencils, ink, pastel pencils, markers and more.

Flowers, fashion and colors are the main elements in my collages. Sometimes I focus on a specific image, other times on a particular color palette. Assembling each piece can take several weeks. The outcome is always unpredictable, and that´s one of the things I love most about collage. It challenges me in the best way to let go and trust the creative process.

Illustration, fashion, collages and books, complement one another in my life.
