STATEMENT
In the recent series of my artworks called ‘Identity’, I have tried to depict the complexities of a woman’s journey and highlight the obstacles and expectations that often overshadow one’s true identity. Each painting in the series features a barcode, symbolizing these external demands that women face in order to be recognised.
I have also tried highlighting contradictory aspects of womanhood that must coexist, such as emotion and power, strength and vulnerability, resilience and fragility, external and internal beauty, motherhood and careers…
Dealing with these extreme opposites and finding balance is the significant beauty of being a woman.
