BIOGRAPHY
Andrea Frascione is a Canadian artist who draws much of her inspiration from the natural world around her to create highly colorful and contemplative abstract works. Born in Montreal in an urban environment, Andrea’s paintings are also influenced by graffiti culture, incorporating different textures and materials as well as layers of paint in different opacities. The juxtaposition of contrasting colours is key to the development of her pieces, as is the deliberate stylization of brushstrokes into linear or cross-hatched patterns.
Born in an urban environment, my work is influenced by graffiti culture, incorporating different textures and materials and layers of paint in different opacities. Now living in the countryside, my inspiration hails from the expansive natural scenery that surrounds me. It is this contrast that gives my art its unique flair.
