BIOGRAPHY

My name is Albina Bougartchev, I am a Fine Art photographer.
I live in a country house with a fruit garden in a rural area not far from Moscow, Russia.
I shoot still life and portraits, most of them are self portraits, since I love playing different roles, choosing between epochs, characters, costumes.
I get inspired by many great artists of the past: Gustav Klimt, Rene Magritte, Frida Kahlo, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Wassily Kandinsky, as well as many genres, from baroque to impressionism to art deco to suprematism.

CV

I educated in Anna Krauklis International Fine Art Photography School.
I participated in a number of national exhibitions in Russia, including two Fine Art exhibitions in Moscow (2022, 2023), Woman Portraits exhibition in St. Petersburg (2022), Classic Still Life exhibition in Moscow (2023).
I am a finalist of the 35 Awards International Photo Contest (2023).
I experience regular publications in art photography online magazines: PhotoVogue, Iconic Artist, Dehazed.

STATEMENT

I have always admired fine art. Wandering from room to room, from one painting to another in museums and art galleries has always been a pleasure, and adventure, and a thought process – all at the same time. However, I have always been saddened by the realisation that classic paintings, beautiful as they are, belong to the past.

My Fine Art photography gives me this sudden happy feeling of connection – between now and then; between people of the past, their ideals, their sense of beauty and us, modern people. The objective of my art is to make this connection tangible to viewers, to seamlessly intertwine soft and enveloping grace and exquisite elegance of the past with crisp and edgy vision of today.

I am always balancing. It’s always a unique recipe. That’s why my artworks look so different in form. But it is always just that – a half pint of impressionism, a cup of Frida Kahlo, 2 tbsp of Manga and a pinch of good old humour.
